Self Assessment

What's in Process Improvement for you?

Have you gone down the quality management road and defined your processes? Your next logical step is to improve your business effectiveness by application of a systemic process improvement.

Process Improvement

To be successful at Process Improvement you need to know:

  • How good you are
  • How good your competition is
  • How good you need to be

Many process improvement methods in use today will give you this information. But the real cost benefit and business advantage to your company can be difficult to assess. In addition, if the assessment is applied from outside your company it can be costly and difficult to establish ownership of a process improvement culture within your business.

Cost Effective Assessment

For process assessment to be cost effective and improve business capability we have found you must:

  • Concentrate on those key processes that improve the bottom line
  • Use self assessment

The application of a compliant ISO15504 or CMM assessment will ensure key information is not lost. ISO9000 audits can produce a mass of detail for compliance, rather than directly driving business advantage. By assessment with the method that we use, you will target the key processes that most assist you to achieve your company goals and drive your business. You will not be side-tracked by an auditors whim or their favourite requirement.

Self assessment mainly uses your own people to minimise assessment costs and ensure you retain control. In addition you build your capability and maintain the accuracy and truthfulness of the assessment. There is no advantage in deluding yourself. To try and maintain false information over regular assessments is difficult and pointless. We are experienced at applying and teaching self assessment techniques.
